The City Council is the legislative branch of the City Government.
The Burton City Council consists of seven (7) council persons elected at large by a vote of the people in odd year elections.
Members are elected to serve four year terms; four members elected in one odd year election and three elected in the next odd year election.
The next City Council election year is 2017. Three Council seats are up for election at that time.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of the month and are held at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers located on the lower level at City Hall.
