Fire Department

BFD Station 2The mission of the Burton Fire Department is to eliminate the loss of life or injury due to the ravages of fire. To reduce significantly property loss due to fire by serving the public with dedication, professionalism and integrity; emphasizing the importance of the fire prevention in the community. Tempering the level of service with the responsibility to be prudent caretakers of the public funds entrusted to us. 

Currently there are 58 firefighters serving the City of Burton.The firefighters are paid on-call employees. Firefighters are under the direction of the Fire Chief who is appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by the City Council. 

There are three fire stations located in the City of Burton.

Station 1 is located on Bristol Rd near the intersection of S. Saginaw St.
Station 2 is located on Belsay Road near the intersection of Lapeer Rd.
Station 3 is located at the intersection of Davison and Genesee Roads.

Fire Chief Marv Epperson's office is located in the Burton Fire Administration building located at 1320 S. Belsay Rd., Burton MI 48509. He can be contacted at (810) 742-2158.
