Bristol Road West of Center Road to be CLOSED August 14th to Early November for Bridge Rehabilitation

BURTON, MI --- Mayor Paula Zelenko is pleased to announce work on the rehabilitation of the Bristol Road Bridge over Thread Creek, located just west of Center Road in Burton, will begin Monday, August 14, 2017.

This work will necessitate the closure of Bristol Road at the bridge from that date until approximately early November. Although access to all businesses will be maintained, Bristol Road will be CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC. A detour route will be posted using Dort Highway, Hemphill Road and Center Road.

The work, which is estimated to cost approximately $800,000, and of which the City of Burton's share will be $40,000, will involve removal and reconditioning of the beams, removal and replacement of parts of the bridge substructure, replacement of bridge deck, curb and gutter, walls, embankment, guardrail and the roadway approaches.
