Welcome to the Parks & Recreation page for the City of Burton. We hope you will watch the calendar for events. We have five parks in the City of Burton currently with another one proposed in our five-year plan.
Water Tower Park is located on Bristol Road next door to the water tower and Fire Station #1. It is a small playground park. It has a playscape, drinking fountain, and picnic tables. This park is geared toward toddler/pre-school age children.
Fireman’s Park is located at Lapeer & Belsay Roads next to Fire Station #2. This park also has a playscape with picnic tables, benches and a pavilion.
Veteran’s Memorial Park is located on Manor Drive just east of the police station, it has a pavilion, picnic tables and drinking fountain. The pavilion may be rented for a fee of $100.00 with a refund of $75.00 after the event if the area is cleaned up. Please call the Clerk's office at 810-743-1500 to make your reservation. DO NOT USE THE ONLINE FORM.
Kelly Lake Park is located off Lapeer Road west of Genesee Road. Many people enjoy this park for walking, nature watching, and fishing. It has a sledding hill for winter enjoyment. There is also a fishing dock, boat launch and beach. The pavilion rental is first come first serve.
Settlement Park located off Thread Creek Boulevard is under development. This park is located along Thread Creek.
The Parks & Recreation Commission plans many activities throughout the year for various age groups such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Memorial Day Parade, Trick or Treat Trail, Christmas Decorating Contest, Christmas Tree Lighting and Pizza with Santa.
We hope you will join us at the various events either by volunteering or participating. For more information or to participate in any of the Parks & Recreation events please email Amy Clous at [email protected]
